InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena & Thuringian ClusterManagement

Booth: 38

Public-private partnership for innovative infection diagnostics and infection research.

The InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena, together with the Thuringian Cluster Management (ThCM), will represent the BioRegion Thuringia as an exhibitor and will be the partner region of the DBT this year.

At the research campus, diagnostic methods are developed and combined to reliably detect infectious agents and antibiotic resistance and to better understand the host response. Connecting basic research, development and application at an early stage results in market-ready laboratory and point-of-care-tests for use in human and veterinary medicine as well as for environmental/water and food analysis. More than 30 partners from science, medicine and industry are working together on novel solutions for the rapid and cost-effective diagnosis of infectious diseases.

The cooperation between public and private partners on an equal footing is breaking down barriers for fast translation of innovative diagnostics. Thus, promising research approaches and disruptive technologies reach routine use and therefore users and patients more quickly as market-ready products.

The Thuringian ClusterManagement (ThCM) fosters and promotes collaboration among enterprises, the scientific and research communities across all Thuringian fields of innovation. It initiates, moderates, and steers strategically important projects and supports Thuringian clusters and networks among other activities. Thus, the ThCM makes a key contribution to Thuringia’s future success as a hub of commerce, technology, and innovation.

The InfectoGnostics Research Campus is one of nine projects in the funding initiative "Research Campus - Public-Private Partnership for Innovations" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
