Dr. Nidhi Singh

Dr. Nidhi Singh joined the IUF as a postdoctoral researcher (Environmental Epidemiologist) in October 2021. She holds a doctorate degree (PhD) in Environmental Science from the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Banaras Hindu University in India, where she also pursued her MPhil degree in Environment and Sustainable Development. She did her B.Sc. in Botany (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Environmental Science at Banaras Hindu University, India. In 2020, Dr. Singh received the prestigious Green Talent award by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for her research work on the association between air pollution / extreme temperatures and human health with focus on child morbidity and mortality. She is currently investigating the epidemiological aspects of air pollution and climate-induced aging in Indian and German women and depressive symptoms in the elderly German women that is directly related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 13 (Climate Action).
