Dr. Kathrin Rübberdt (born 1973) studied chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Universität Leipzig and received her PhD in Göttingen. In addition, she got a degree in economics at the Fernuniversität Hagen. In 2001, she started her career with Accenture in strategic management consulting. In 2007, she joined AMR International Ltd. as a project manager. Since 2008, she has been working at DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) as Head of Communications and from 2011 also as Head of the Biotechnology Department. In July 2021, she became Head of Division “Science and Industry” at DECHEMA, responsible for all topical activies in DECHEMA’s broad portfolio of working groups and publicly funded projects as well as for the databases and DECHEMA Analysis + Consulting.

Kathrin Rübberdt is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fraunhofer IFAM, a member of the CLIB Advisory Board and the scientific council of the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe. She also manages the task group “Communications” of the Dialogue Platform Industrial Bioeconomy of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
