Biorefinery 3.0 – How Do We Make Biorefineries Fit for the Future?

Saal: Halle Süd C

Biorefineries are still at the beginning of their development compared to petroleum processing refineries. In order to achieve the raw material turnaround away from petroleum as the raw material of the manufacturing and processing industry and the resource-efficient handling of other raw materials, we need advanced and complex biorefineries that integrate the production of biobased or bio-catalytically produced products and energy carriers. In order to establish a circular bio-economy, waste must also be avoided or processed in biorefineries. How can we shape the future of biorefineries in Germany? What framework conditions and strategies do we need for a sustainable circular economy?
